Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

INITIAL BANDAGE

When your session is complete, we'll apply a protective bandage that should remain in place for 2–4 hours. During this time, plasma mixed with pigment may accumulate due to weeping—this is completely normal and part of the healing process.

FIRST 48 HOURS: CLEANING & PROTECTION

Cleaning Process (Every 4–6 Hours)

1. Wash gently: Use alcohol-free, fragrance-free soap. Create a light lather with clean hands and apply it to your tattoo using soft, circular motions.
2. Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm or cool water until all soap is removed.
3. Dry: Pat dry with paper towels (never use cloth towels or fabrics that shed lint).
4. Reapply bandage: Cover with fresh plastic film that is snug but not tight. The film protects your tattoo from contamination and bacteria.

Repeat this process every 4–6 hours for 48 hours. Keep your tattoo covered with film at all times, only removing it to clean and change the bandage.

FROM DAY 3 ONWARDS: TRANSITION TO CREAM

Stop using plastic film. Continue the same gentle cleaning routine:

1. Wash with alcohol-free, fragrance-free soap using soft circular motions
2. Rinse with lukewarm or cool water
3. Pat dry completely with paper towels
4. Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free, alcohol-free moisturizing cream (preferably one containing Vitamin A)

Important: Use only a thin layer of cream. Excess cream can trap moisture and cause infections or complications during healing.
Continue this process for two weeks.

WHAT TO EXPECT: THE HEALING PROCESS

As your tattoo heals, it will naturally form scabs and may appear to have spots or discoloration. This is completely normal. Do not scratch, pick, or peel the skin—this protects the color saturation and ensures even healing. Picking at scabs can cause color loss and uneven scarring.

LONG-TERM CARE

As your tattoo heals, it will naturally form scabs and may appear to have spots or discoloration. This is completely normal. Do not scratch, pick, or peel the skin—this protects the color saturation and ensures even healing. Picking at scabs can cause color loss and uneven scarring.

After the initial two-week healing period:

  • Continue moisturizing: Keep your tattoo hydrated with fragrance-free, alcohol-free cream

  • Sun protection: Always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) if your tattoo will be exposed to sunlight. This prevents fading and maintains color vibrancy
